Since 1987, University Aviation LLC has been training safe, confident, and professional pilots. Whether you are starting from zero or building on existing experience, our comprehensive Private Pilot Ground School gives you the knowledge and skills you need to pass your FAA knowledge test and become a successful pilot. Upon graduation with a signed certificate which allows you to take the FAA test.

Your Instructor – Andrew Manfolk CFI MEI FE ATPL and ATP-CTP instructor
Captain Manfolk brings decades of professional aviation experience to every class. As a former airline captain and instructor, he holds type ratings in the SA-227 (Swearingen Metro/Merlin), Boeing 727, and Boeing 737. He also flew the DC-10-40. He teaches private pilot students up through ATP students in the Boeing 737-NG.
Additionally, he teaches students to fly tailwheel aircraft, flying on skis, and was a banner tow pilot. He became a flight instructor at age 18. His real-world airline experience, combined with years of teaching, gives students practical insights that go far beyond the textbook. He is also a very attentive instructor working to ensure every student easily succeeds in gaining a complete understanding of all of the course material. Andrew is a very capable instructor. You will learn with great ease and efficiency.
Your instructor is passionate about making complex aviation topics clear and enjoyable. He has successfully trained many students who have gone on to become private pilots, commercial pilots, and airline professionals.
Captain Manfolk has extensive experience as a flight instructor and is currently developing high-quality remote and in-person ground school programs to help the next generation of pilots achieve their goals.
